Hello 2025

Listen to this blog post below! ⬇️

2025 is officially here and I wanted to go ahead and talk about my personal expectations for the new year regarding my content creation career. Will any of my goals come true? Who knows but motivation, discipline and consistency are strong allies.

As I grow older, I really want to do more with my life than the normal 9-5 I have in order for me to live. Yes I am blessed to have a regular job that gives me more money than I had with my previous part-time and on-call jobs but honestly, and this doesn’t just apply to me, I don’t want to settle down with the bare minimum. There’s family I want to take care of and dreams I want to accomplish.

I especially want to do more with my life with the talents that I have.

I’d like to think I have a talent in storytelling, as not only is it all I love to consume, but it’s also something I love to create. So much so I even went to college to get a bachelor’s degree on it. While my parents still think its a waste, I personally don’t. Did I get a job in the book publishing industry? No, COVID happened. But I did learn a lot and further cemented my love for storytelling. I would love to continue in my education and get a Masters but my wallet insists we take it one step at a time.

So when it comes to my dream career as a professional storyteller, I’m flexible on the medium. To start, the move is webcomics as I find visual novels my guilty pleasure. Drawing was always my go-to before writing.

I did publish my first novel, Inferos Edge from the Fallen Pantheon series, back in 2018 and later republished a second edition with some changes in 2022. For those of you curious, Inferos Edge is an urban dark fantasy novel about a girlie who can see ghosts and routinely gets stalked by the devil. She moves to a new city with lots of suspicious references to Greek Mythology and soon becomes embroiled with the local mafia while trying to find a former crime boss’s killer. You know, regular transplant problems.

Phani can see ghosts. She is also stalked by the devil. Getting involved with the local mafia while trying to find a deceased crime boss’s killer was not even on her “New City, New Me” bingo card.

I am absolutely terrible at marketing however, so not very many people on the internet know I published a novel, but it is available to purchase on my website as an ebook and a physical paperback, but you can also read the first three chapters free.

I will publish book 2, Avernus Within, sometime eventually, as it is a 5 book series (I know, don’t judgment me) I don’t know when that will be but I just have to make earning money a priority right now. If enough people express interest, I’ll hurry and finish writing it. It is a quarter of the way written after all. And you know what else? I hesitate to even say this, but…maybe I’ll make Inferos Edge into a comic someday. And the reason I’m hesitant to say that is because I have ENOUGH already on my plate but for marketing purposes, ya hear? For marketing purposes, I don’t mind making a few traditional comic pages on some scenes I like for the story. That sounds fun to me and might encourage people to check out the story. It’s not a full commitment and I also hesitate to say this but I’d love to read aloud the chapters and showcases some illustrations in a video on a second channel dedicated to my original content.

It’s a lot of my plate I know so I’ll focus on easier things for now.

But moving on…

COMICS

…comics is what I will be focusing on for 2025. Three comics to be precise.

There’s my YouTube animatic and webcomic companion Dante’s Ama. It’s a psychological thriller about a girl searching for her mother’s killer while dealing with a serial killer who desperately wants to date her. Or kill her. He’s still deciding.

There’s The Barringer Hotel, a horror thriller set in the 1890s where an ambitious girl is 99.9% sure her handsome neighbor and boss is a killer and murders people in his hotel.

And then there’s Bittersweet Nightshade, my pet project that I worked with Sarah, my middle-school bestie, about two vampire slaying girlies uncovering a terrible conspiracy about the organization they work for when they get kidnapped by vampires. Can they survive long enough to do something about it or will they get killed by humans, vampires and everyone in between?

I have a loose schedule for these stories where I start uploading them here on my Patreon first, then my website, daydaydoes.com, then Webtoon CANVA, and other comic platforms like NamiComi, Global Comix, maybe Tapas, and so on and so forth. I’ll post a blog post about the specifics in the future, but for now, that’s what I’ll be working on this year, especially Barringer Hotel as I will be submitting it for the 2025 Webtoon Contest.

I’ll make a post talk about that later.

PERSONAL SHTUFF

Aside from comic making, I have minor things I want to work on like losing weight. Seriously, I gotta put my health first because I have not been doing that. I want to be in a better place financially so I can build a better wardrobe, work on my looks, and eventually quit my 9-5. Now that right there is my ultimate goal this year. Fingers crossed and please send prayers my way because boy am I going to hustle.

Also I’d like to work on some hobbies aside from drawing and writing like playing an instrument, violin preferably, and joining a physical sport casually, maybe tennis, maybe archery, maybe just walking more frequently around the park. It’s all for my health, but maybe it’ll be a nice social club since all my friends are online and live in different states.

Curses!

YOUTUBE

Ooh and before I forget, I will also be working on YouTube in 2025! I want to take it more seriously and produce more videos than I previously did. I think for 2024 I made 12 videos in total. Which isn’t bad, but I feel like I can do more. If I can make like 2 videos a month, that would be rad. I also wanted to make a separate channel where I posted non-opinion videos and just storytelling videos like animatics in dub and sub, small animations, audio recordings of fanfics and original stories, shorts and other fun things. So that’s my hopeful plan.

Good lord, it sounds like a lot so I hope I can juggle all of my plans because I’m also doing all the recording, scripting, editing myself so it is time-consuming. I’m hoping batching, which is scripting a bunch of videos at once, recording them all at once and then editing them as I upload them, will help me. I feel like that’s more doable, I just have to sit down and apply myself. And then if I can afford some help, I will snap up an extra pair of hands for sure. Like, EXPEDITIOUSLY.

Regardless, this is kind what I have planned, heavy emphasis on the comic making so expect a lot of updates and talks of that nature.

Thanks for joining me on this little yap session.

Until next time everyone,

Cheers! ✨
